Who we are

HEAD Trust champions the value of creative higher education in the UK. Established in 1986 as the Higher Education in Art and Design Foundation, the Trust has a long history of supporting and strengthening Art, Craft, and Design education from school to HE across the UK.

What We Do

We promote the benefits of Higher Education in Creative Art and Design and the wider Creative Industries. Working independently and in partnership, we help highlight the vital role creativity plays in education, culture and society.

How We Work

HEAD Trust is co‑chaired by David Vaughan and Maggie Ayliffe, supported by a dedicated group of trustees from across the UK’s creative and educational sectors. Together, we focus our resources on high‑profile national projects that demonstrate the impact and importance of creative education.

Our collaborations include initiatives with organisations such as CHEAD, NSEAD, GuildHE Creative (UKADIA), Cultural Learning Alliance, Clore Duffield Foundation, Arts Council England and the National Saturday Club.
